Good Show

Like many people, my thoughts today are with David and Samantha Cameron after the tragic loss of their son Ivan. The death of a child is something no parents should ever have to go through, and I wish them and their family and friends the very best through what must be horrible times. I'm sure they'll look back on the time they had with Ivan with great fondness.

I would also like to say thank you and 'good show' to Gordon Brown. His statement to the Commons was respectful, kindly and very sincere. As someone who has struggled in the past to sound all of these things, it was a real and welcome contrast. I'm sure that the sad death of his infant daughter Jennifer back in 2002 also puts him in a better position than most to understand what the Camerons are going through. So fair play to him as well.

Yes. Fair play to him for his sincere words.

He's still an utter, utter cunt, though.

Echo that kille...

Thought Brown spoke the best few words of his political career. But of course it didn't involve the economy, immigration, law & order, military underspending and so on and so forth.

Some of my wayward thinking friends who still vote Labour always justify the Man That Is Brown by saying 'he is genuinely a nice guy'. Yeah he probably is, and the words reflect that. But he is also completely and utterly incompetent and has taken a damn fine economy circa 1997-1999 and shafted us for the next decade.
